Job summary

Hangleton Primary School in England is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to work under the guidance of teaching staff and deliver specialized support programmes. You won’t just be “helping out” — you will be a vital link in ensuring every child, regardless of challenges, can engage with the curriculum and thrive.

This role includes an additional 1/2 hour lunch-time duty and may involve working at both Benfield and Hangleton sites as linked schools.

Qualifications

Experience working with children with significant needs and social/communication difficulties.
Completion Teaching Assistant qualification or relevant.
Solid understanding of the national curriculum, child development, and basic learning strategies.
Ability to work constructively within a team while self-evaluating your own learning needs.
Good numeracy/literacy skills and the ability to use ICT and other classroom technology effectively to support learning.

Responsibilities

Supervise and provide tailored support for pupils with significant needs, ensuring their safety and full access to learning activities.
Assist in the development and delivery of Individual Education/Behaviour Plans
Work flexibly with colleagues to successfully deliver planned intervention programmes.
Set challenging expectations that promote self-esteem and encourage pupil independence.
Use strategies to promote the inclusion of all pupils and encourage social interaction.
