Job summary

Sherborne Primary School is seeking a caring Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team. The role is 11.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year, term-time plus inset days, permanent contract.

You will work closely with teachers to support pupils across the school, helping create an inclusive, engaging learning environment so every child can reach their potential. ELSA qualification is particularly welcome. The role is UK-based with safeguarding and DBS requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children in a school or support setting.
• ELSA qualification is desirable.
• Empathetic, patient and committed to inclusion.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team and take initiative.

Responsibilities

• Work one-to-one or with small groups to support learning across curriculum.
• Support pupils to achieve their potential.
• Assist teachers in delivering tailored interventions and learning strategies.
• Encourage confidence, independence and a love of learning.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and families.
• Provide support for individual students inside and outside of the classroom.
