About the role

Teaching Assistants (TAs) will supplement academic lectures through the delivery of group teaching (for example, in seminars and workshops) and associated duties for students taking modules in the School of Management. Associated duties may include marking coursework and exams.

The post holder will report to the leader of the module(s) they are supporting, and the appointment will be available from 22nd September to 30th June.

This role does not meet the eligibility requirements for a Skilled Worker Visa certificate of sponsorship under UK Visas and Immigration legislation. Therefore, UCL will not be able to sponsor individuals who require the right to work in the UK to carry out this role.

About you

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate the following criteria:

  • Educated to Masters level, or have equivalent qualifications or professional qualifications and experience, in a Management related field relevant to the course modules you are interested in.
  • A strong understanding of key legal topics relevant to business managers, including at least some of the following areas: Contract Law, Employment Law, Intellectual Property Law, Health and Safety Law, Business Organisations.
  • Ability to explain and apply legal concepts in a practical, real-world business context, helping students understand how these areas of law impact managers in day-to-day organisational settings.
  • Excellent working knowledge of MS Office software including Word, Excel, email, and the internet.
  • Commitment to providing dedicated office hours for additional coursework support and student guidance.
  • Previous experience of teaching or other forms of public presentation.
  • Relevant industry experience.
