Job summary

Cyngor Sir Ceredigion County Council is inviting applications for a supportive role in assisting pupils with severe/profound/SEN and behavioural needs. The post emphasises enabling access to learning both in class and in resource provisions, including medical assistance where required.

You will work with schools to support transitions between primary and secondary settings, supervise pupils on trips, and collaborate with other staff and agencies.

Qualifications

• Good numeracy and literacy skills.
• Ability to work constructively and flexibly as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Can supervise and provide support to pupils, either individually or in groups, in meaningful learning activities ensuring their safety and access to learning
• Can attend to pupil’s personal and physical needs
• Can assist with planning and delivery of specific learning activities in a variety of situations such as in the classroom, small group settings or on a one-to-one
• Can use strategies to support pupils to achieve learning goals
• Can establish constructive relationships and communicate with other agencies/professionals to support pupil achievement and progress
• Can supervise pupils on visits, trips and out of school activities as required having regard for the health safety and wellbeing of pupils, other staff and the general public
• Has the ability to self-evaluate their own learning needs to strive to seek out learning opportunities
