Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment LTD. is seeking a confident HLTA/Teaching Assistant to support students across the school day, including afternoons in the Hair & Beauty department. You’ll help maintain a safe learning environment and promote practical skills.

The ideal candidate has TA/HLTA experience, strong behaviour management, and a proactive attitude. Experience with students with additional needs is valued, and an interest in hair and beauty or vocational learning is a plus.

Qualifications

• Experience as TA/HLTA or in an educational setting.
• Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills.
• Patient, resilient and proactive approach.
• Interest in Hair & Beauty or vocational learning is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to students throughout the school day.
• Support practical Hair & Beauty sessions in the afternoons.
• Manage behaviour confidently and consistently.
• Support students with additional needs and promote positive engagement.
• Work with teaching staff to maintain a safe, structured learning environment.

Hours: Full-time, Monday-Friday
Pay: Dependent on experience

We are looking for a confident and proactive HLTA or Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school, supporting students throughout the school day, including within the Hair & Beauty department during afternoon sessions.

The Role:

• Providing support to students throughout the school day.
• Supporting practical Hair &Beauty sessions in the afternoons.
• Managing behaviour confidently and consistently.
• Supporting students with additional needs and promoting positive engagement.
• Working alongside teaching staff to maintain a safe, structured learning environment.
• Encouraging students to develop their confidence, independence and practical skills.

The Ideal Candidate:

• Experience working as a TA, HLTA or in a similar educational setting.
• Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills.
• Confident supporting students with additional needs and challenging behaviour.
• Patient, resilient and proactive, with a positive approach.
• An interest in Hair & Beauty or vocational learning would be advantageous.
