Tradewind Recruitment LTD. is assisting a Camden-based SEMH specialist school to recruit a Hair and Beauty Teaching Assistant. The role is full-time, long-term, supporting pupils in hair and beauty lessons and helping them build practical skills and confidence.

Responsibilities include one-to-one and small-group support, managing a positive learning environment, setting up equipment, and modelling positive social skills. DBS via Update Service preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people in schools or similar settings.
• Practical knowledge or experience in hair, makeup or beauty therapy.
• Awareness of SEMH and ability to support emotional and behavioral needs.
• Enhanced DBS via Update Service or willingness to apply.

Key Requirements

• Childcare / Education Experience: Prior experience working with children or young people (in schools, youth work, or care settings) is essential.
• Vocational Knowledge: Practical knowledge or experience in hair, makeup, or beauty therapy.
• SEMH Awareness: A resilient, empathetic, and patient approach to supporting pupils with complex emotional and behavioral needs.
• DBS Check: Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
