Job summary

Hodgson Academy is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant Level 2 to join our Learning Support department on a permanent, term-time basis. The role focuses on supporting students to overcome barriers to learning and develop confidence across English, maths, science and other subjects.

You will work within a collaborative team that meets daily, benefits from CPD and mentor support, and contributes to a safe, inclusive learning environment for all students.

Qualifications

  • GCSE/NVQ level 2 or equivalent qualification in English/Literacy and Mathematics / Numeracy essential
  • Recognised and relevant NVQ Level 3 qualification or equivalent is desirable
  • Experience of working with children is essential
  • Experience of working in a classroom environment is expected
  • Experience of supporting children with challenging behaviour is beneficial
  • Experience of Administrative work is advantageous
  • Experience of supporting pupils with literacy and phonics is relevant
  • Ability to plan and deliver work programmes is required

Our Learning Support department is collaborative, high-performing, and student-focused. You'll be joining a highly experienced and supportive team that meets each morning, shares resources, and benefits from dedicated whole-school Teaching and Learning CPD alongside mentor support for new team members.

A day in your new role could see you:-
  1. implementing structured learning activities to support individual students or groups in English, maths, science, and other subject areas.

Qualifications
