Job summary

Lower Meadow Primary Academy is seeking a Teaching Assistant to support pupils in and out of the classroom, helping children access learning and build independence in a safe, stimulating environment.

We offer a warm school community with a strong focus on safeguarding, inclusion, and professional development. The role is 34 hours per week, term-time only, permanent, with flexible working opportunities from day one.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years’ experience working with or caring for children in an educational setting.
• Holds NVQ Level 2 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent.
• Strong literacy and numeracy (GCSE English and Maths at grade C or above).
• Understands the national curriculum and how to support learning across subjects.
• Is confident, enthusiastic, and motivated with a commitment to inclusion and safeguarding.

Responsibilities

• Supporting pupils’ learning, including those with additional needs, ensuring their safety and engagement.
• Assisting with lesson preparation, classroom organisation, and resource management.
• Promoting positive behaviour and inclusion across the school.
• Providing feedback to teachers on pupil progress and behaviour.
• Supervising pupils during non-classroom times, including lunchtime and school trips.
• Supporting the use of ICT and helping pupils develop digital skills.
