Job summary

Hays Education is recruiting Teaching Assistants to join friendly primary schools in Edgbaston and the surrounding B16 area for September 2026. You will support the class teacher, help pupils feel included and ready to learn, and adapt to varied daily activities across year groups.

The role offers full-time or part-time contracts, with long-term and potential permanent opportunities. You should have experience with children and be patient, positive and proactive in supporting learners.

Qualifications

• Have supported children in a school, nursery, childcare, youth work or similar setting.
• Genuinely enjoy helping children learn, grow and feel confident.
• Communicate well and work positively as part of a team.
• Be dependable, flexible and ready to use your initiative.
• Ideally hold a Level 2 or Level 3 TA, CACHE, NVQ or equivalent qualification.

Responsibilities

• Supporting learning and classroom activities across EYFS, KS1 or KS2.
• Guiding small groups through focused tasks.
• Offering individual support to pupils who need extra encouragement.
• Helping children develop confidence, independence and positive learning habits.
• Contributing to a calm, welcoming and inclusive classroom.
• Supporting classroom organisation and everyday routines.
