Job description

We are seeking a Female Teaching Assistant (TA) who is passionate about excelling in the education industry. You will support students in a classroom at a leading school in London. This rewarding role involves working with a young Year 8 girl who has Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) needs due to past personal events. We are looking for a caring, nurturing, and doting female TA to support this pupil.

Role: Teaching Assistant

Start: ASAP

Location: Barking

Contract: Full time

Ideal Candidate:

  • Supervising and supporting pupils
  • Assisting in the development of resources, schemes of work, and teaching strategies
  • Supporting behaviour management
  • Undertaking structured learning activities and adjusting them to meet learning goals
  • Supervising children during break times, such as playtime and lunchtime
  • Building positive relationships with children and acting as a role model
  • Promoting inclusion and acceptance, supporting diversity, and ensuring equal access to learning opportunities

Requirements:

  • Experience working directly with young people in education or training settings
  • Basic knowledge of SEND and learning barriers
  • Previous experience working with children in educational environments
  • Bachelor's degree (degrees in Education Studies, Psychology, Sports, or related fields are welcome)
  • Potential for a permanent position
  • Ability to work within a growing team
