Job summary

Alsager School is seeking a proactive Teaching Assistant to work with teaching staff to support the education and development of pupils. You will be involved in planning of lessons where possible and help supervise activities to ensure a safe and supportive learning environment.

The role requires collaboration with staff and parents, with the opportunity to contribute to pupil progress monitoring and to participate in staff development and reviews.

Responsibilities

• Assist teaching staff in the delivery of learning activities and work programmes; undertake predetermined activities with pupils to foster intellectual and social development.
• Provide input into planning and evaluation of learning activities for individuals and groups.
• Supervise pupils in and out of the classroom; ensure safety and support their development per behavior policy.
• Monitor pupil progress and report to staff to inform planning and Personal Care programmes.
• Liaise with parents and carers with teaching staff to ensure wellbeing communication.
• Record pupil information as directed to maintain school information systems.
• Attend to pupils' personal, social and physical needs to support wellbeing.
• Prepare and maintain learning equipment and keep the classroom tidy.
• Display and present pupils' work to enhance the classroom environment and celebrate achievement.
• Attend staff meetings and participate in staff development and reviews as required.
