Job summary

First Class Supply in Gateshead is seeking qualified Teaching Assistants to work in various schools on day-to-day placements and long-term assignments. You will support the class teacher with activities and help pupils with reading, writing and mathematics.

Applicants should have NVQ level 2 or equivalent in child care, be committed to making a difference, and be able to travel around Gateshead. DBS checks and references will be requested during the interview.

Qualifications

• Hold NVQ level 2 or equivalent in a child care qualification.
• Committed to making a real difference to the lives of pupils.
• Have experience of working within a school.
• Be able to work at short notice.
• Willing to travel throughout Gateshead. Please note that the pay rate will depend of the level of experience and qualification achieved by the post holder.

Responsibilities

• Assist the class teacher with classroom activities.
• Provide additional support to small groups or pupils on a one-to-one basis.
• Support reading, writing and mathematics for pupils as needed.
