Job Vacancy: Teaching Assistants - SEMH

Location: Greenwich
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Full-Time, Temp-Perm

Are you passionate about making a positive impact on children's lives? Do you want to be part of a supportive and dedicated team working with young people who have social, emotional, and mental health needs, alongside additional diagnoses such as ASD, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, and other associated special educational needs?

The Role:
We are seeking compassionate and motivated Teaching Assistants to join our team. You will work closely with teachers and specialists to support pupils across primary and secondary age ranges, helping them engage with their learning and develop key life skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide targeted support to pupils with SEMH needs and additional diagnoses including ASD, ODD, etc.

  • Assist in the delivery of personalised learning programmes and interventions.

  • Support behaviour management strategies to create a safe, positive learning environment.

  • Build strong relationships with pupils, staff, and families.

  • Contribute to maintaining accurate records and reporting pupil progress.

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN, particularly SEMH and ASD, is highly desirable.

  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help pupils succeed.

  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Flexibility and resilience in a dynamic school environment.

  • Relevant qualifications or training in education or SEN support are advantageous but not essential.
