Job summary

Career Teachers UK is seeking a Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with additional needs at Leicester City Primary School for October 2026 (x3). You will join a team delivering quality well-being, PSHE and physical activity programmes, with 1:1 support and strong engagement across locations.

The role requires solid behaviour management, a patient, engaging approach and the ability to build rapport with schools and pupils. Experience with male role models or pastoral care is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting pupils with additional needs and ability to engage children through activities.
• Strong behaviour management and patient, engaging manner are essential.
• Experience with mentoring or pastoral support is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Deliver planned structured sessions to students.
• Travel between locations to deliver programmes.
• Maintain outstanding class management and supervise groups.
• Deliver 1:1 and small-group interventions linked to Active Phonics.

Job description

Teaching Assistant Leicester City Primary School – October 2026 (x3)

We are seeking a Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with additional needs. The successful candidate will build a positive, consistent relationship and provide support both in and out of the classroom.

Experience working with children who benefit from positive male role models, mentoring, behaviour support, or pastoral care would be advantageous. The ability to engage pupils through activities that match their interests and learning style is essential.

The role is to provide quality Well-being, Intervention & PSHE Provision to children in our partnering local primary schools.

You will work closely with our partnering primary schools and provide 1:1 support with teachers within the school. You will look to build instant rapport and professional relationships.

You will also support to plan and deliver fun education, activities/sports/creative play and skill based games.

The ideal candidate for this role will be able to build relationships with schools.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

You will need to be L2/L3 or Degree qualified in a sports and child workforce related qualification.
