Job summary

Axcis Education Recruitment is seeking a SEND Teaching Assistant to support two Year 3 pupils with Autism at a mainstream primary school in Southville, Bristol (BS3). The role is full-time, term-time only, ASAP start, long-term to the end of the academic year.

You will provide 1:1 and small-group support, adapt activities, and work with the SEN team to promote inclusive education and positive behaviour. DBS required and ongoing professional development provided.

About the Role

• Support two Year 3 pupils with Autism throughout the school day


• Provide targeted 1:1 and small-group support depending on the needs of the pupils


• Adapt classroom activities and learning resources to make them accessible and engaging


• Support pupils with communication, social interaction, emotional regulation and independence


• Use positive and consistent strategies to encourage engagement and positive behaviour


• Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider school team to provide consistent support


• Help create a calm, inclusive and nurturing classroom environment
