Job summary

Shield Row Primary School, part of Tudhoe Learning Trust, seeks a Teaching Assistant Apprentice for up to 18 months. The role is based in Shield Row and 32.5 hours per week, term-time only. You will support across year groups with group work and one-to-one help, aiming to make all pupils able to access the curriculum.

Apprenticeship starts after conditional checks. Training is provided by Realise, with 20% off-the-job learning included in the day.

Qualifications

• 5 GCSEs at grades A-C/9-4 including English and Maths or equivalent
• Reliable, flexible and passionate about working in schools
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

Shield Row Primary School is one of seven schools which forms part of Tudhoe Learning Trust. We are looking for a Teaching Assistant Apprentice to join us for a period of up to 18 months. The role is based in Shield Row Primary School and offered at 32.5 hours per week and on a term-time basis. Within your apprenticeship you may be required to work different year groups, supporting teaching & learning in a variety of ways, including group work and one to one support, with the aim that all pupils can access our curriculum. The apprenticeship will commence once conditional offer checks are completed.

As an apprentice you will develop skills, knowledge and experience of working within Education and you will also develop:

• An understanding of current statutory guidance including ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’ Part 1, Safeguarding policies, prevent strategy.
• Recognise different stages of child development through school e.g. transition between key stages and year groups.
• Support and encourage pupils to move towards independent learning.

Qualifications Required

Training to be Provided

Your full role and responsibilities will be set out by your employer. They will provide you with all of the on-the-job training you need to up-skill in your role, and your 20% off-the-job learning will be incorporated as part of your working day.

You will be working towards the Teaching Assistant Level 3 apprenticeship standard, which includes:

• Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours
• Functional skills in Maths and English if required

This will be delivered by your dedicated training provider, Realise.
