Job summary

Blackbrook Community Primary School in Taunton, Somerset, part of The Oak Partnership Trust, is inviting applications for a Teaching Assistant.

You will work 1:1 with pupils with SEND needs, support small groups with reading and writing, and help implement learning adaptations as directed by the class teacher. The role requires patience, empathy and a collaborative spirit to nurture every pupil's educational journey.

Qualifications

• Experience in education is desirable.
• Experience supporting pupils with SEND needs is desirable.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work well in a team are essential.
• Experience with medical support for children in school is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Working 1:1 with pupils with SEND needs.
• Providing activities and learning support for small groups under the supervision of the class teacher.
• Implementing adaptations to learning identified by the class teacher and SENDCo.
• Working as part of the staff team to support teaching provision and pupil learning.
• Providing objective feedback to pupils to extend their learning.
• Supervising and supporting pupils at break and lunchtimes.
