Job summary

West Coker CofE VC Primary School is seeking a proactive Teaching Assistant to join our friendly village school. The role involves supporting a child with additional needs and working with small groups and 1:1 learners, under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCo.

We value calm, flexible and imaginative approaches, with strong English, Maths and IT skills. Driving is required, and a willingness to undertake safeguarding, first aid and related training is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with additional needs and working with small groups or 1:1 learners.
• Ability to communicate clearly and build positive relationships with students, families, and staff.
• Willingness to undertake safeguarding, first aid, and child protection training.

Responsibilities

• Provide high quality support to small groups and 1:1 learners under the direction of the class teacher and SENCo.
• Support a child with additional needs and contribute to inclusive practices in the classroom.

An exciting opportunity has come up at our small village school to appoint an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to become part of our friendly and supportive team.

The successful candidate will be supporting a child with additional needs. Experience in either Key Stage would be beneficial.

We are looking for someone:

• Who is calm, flexible and imaginative.
• Who has experiance of working with special educational needs.
• Must be able to drive and have access to a car.
• To work as a key worker for a child with additional needs
• Has good interpersonal skills and is able to use their initiative as well as working well in a team.
• Has a good level of English, Maths and IT skills.
• We would like to hear about any intrests or hobbies that may enrich a pupils experiance in your application.

The successful candidate taking direction from the class teacher and SENCo to provide high quality support to small groups of children and 1:1 individuals.
