Job summary

Smile Education is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a Wolverhampton secondary school. You will support pupils with additional needs, help them access learning and build confidence in a supportive environment.

This full-time, long-term role offers opportunities to develop practical experience in SEN and education, with ongoing consultant support and access to a range of teaching opportunities across the West Midlands.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEN is desirable.
• Previous experience in a school, care, youth work or support setting is welcomed.

Smile Education are currently recruiting for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a secondary school in Wolverhampton (WV1). This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about supporting young people with additional needs, helping them to access learning, develop confidence and achieve their potential within a supportive secondary school environment.

The Role

• Supporting pupils with a range of additional and special educational needs.


• Providing 1:1 and small-group support both in and outside the classroom.


• Helping pupils to engage with learning and overcome barriers to education.


• Supporting pupils with their social, emotional and behavioural development.


• Working closely with teaching staff and the wider pastoral/SEN team.


• Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
