A welcoming and supportive specialist primary school in Farnborough is seeking a confident and proactive Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated team. This setting caters exclusively for children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), and provides a structured, nurturing environment where pupils aged 4–11 can thrive both academically and personally.

The school is purpose-built to meet the complex needs of its pupils, offering small class sizes, a high staff-to-pupil ratio, and access to specialist resources. Pupils benefit from a consistent, calm, and predictable approach that supports communication, sensory regulation, and emotional development.

The Role:
The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher to support the learning and well-being of pupils with a range of SEN and ASC diagnoses. Responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the teacher with leading class activities and interventions
  • Providing one-to-one and small group support
  • Assisting with personal care and emotional regulation when necessary
  • Encouraging independence and developing positive relationships
  • Supporting pupils’ communication and social development in line with individual education plans

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Be confident, proactive, and resilient
  • Have experience working with children, particularly those with SEN or ASC
  • Show a calm and consistent approach to behaviour and learning support
  • Be a team player with strong communication skills
  • Demonstrate a genuine passion for making a difference in the lives of children with additional needs
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one at own cost)
  • Right to work in the UK
  • References covering the last two years
