TeacherActive Ltd is seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to support primary pupils across Wakefield in various schools. You will help deliver classroom activities, support reading, phonics and numeracy, and provide 1:1 assistance where needed.

The role offers day-to-day bookings, with potential longer placements. Applicants should have prior experience with primary-aged children and be adaptable to different year groups.

Opportunities can range from individual day-to-day bookings through to full-time, long-term placements, with potential permanent opportunities depending on the needs of individual schools.

As a Primary Teaching Assistant, you may be responsible for:

• Supporting teachers with the delivery of classroom activities
• Working with pupils individually and in small groups
• Supporting phonics, reading, literacy and numeracy interventions
• Helping pupils remain engaged with their learning
• Providing 1:1 support where required
• Supporting pupils with additional needs
• Promoting positive behaviour within the classroom
• Adapting to different year groups and school environments

The successful Teaching Assistant will have:

• Previous experience working with primary-aged children
• Experience across EYFS, KS1 and/or KS2
• A positive and adaptable approach
• Strong communication and behaviour management skills
• SEND experience is desirable but not essential
