Job summary

Chestnut Park Primary School in Croydon is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support the class teacher and help pupils access an engaging curriculum. You will work as part of a committed team to foster a nurturing, inclusive environment and assist children to reach their potential.

The role requires enthusiasm, patience, and a track record of working with children with SEN, plus GCSE English and Maths at grade C or above. Term-time hours apply, with 35 hours per week.

Qualifications

  • The successful candidate should be dynamic, enthusiastic and motivated.
  • Able to develop positive relationships with young children.
  • Able to stay calm and objective with unusual or challenging behaviour.
  • Experience of working with children with SEN is desirable.
  • Enthusiastic and committed to working as part of a team.
  • Confident and clear communicator with parents.

Responsibilities

  • Support the class teacher in accessing an engaging curriculum.

  • Assist with management of behaviours and SEN needs as required.
