Job summary

Zest Education is seeking a proactive Teaching Assistant to support a primary class in Tamworth. You will work under the guidance of the class teacher to deliver engaging activities, support reading, writing and numeracy, and help foster a safe, stimulating learning environment for early learners.

Teaching Assistant – Tamworth

Start Date: September 2026

Duration: Full Term (Autumn term), with strong potential for extension

Rate of pay: £92.63 - £100 per day

Zest Education is excited to recruit an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant for a warm and welcoming primary school in Tamworth. About the Role

In this role, you will work closely with the class teacher to deliver high‑quality lesson support. You will:

  • Deliver engaging learning activities alongside the teacher
  • Support children with reading, writing, and numeracy
  • Help create a stimulating, safe, and supportive learning environment
  • Provide 1:1 and small‑group support as needed
  • Encourage children’s social, emotional, and academic development
The Ideal Candidate

Ideally candidates will have a Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning, and you should already have experience working with children. Additionally, you will bring:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A patient, caring and positive approach
  • Effective behaviour‑management strategies
  • The ability to collaborate well with colleagues
  • Creativity and enthusiasm for early learning
  • A solid understanding of safeguarding and child development
