Job summary

Witherslack Group is hiring Teaching Assistants in Sunderland to help children and young people with ASD/SEMH. You’ll support learning, boost self-esteem and work closely with therapists and teachers to deliver targeted activities.

The role offers induction training, full school holidays, progression opportunities and a range of benefits in a supportive SEND setting at Ashbrooke School in the North East.

Qualifications

• Ideally you’ll have experience working in a classroom.
• Willing to undertake induction and on‑the‑job training.
• A genuine passion for supporting children to learn and grow.

Responsibilities

• Support teachers in delivering lessons and activities.
• Assist pupils with autistic spectrum disorder and SEMH needs to raise confidence and skills.
• Contribute to a positive, inclusive classroom environment and safeguarding processes.

You’ll be working with children and young people with Autistic Spectrum Disorder/Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs. You’ll be there to help them learn, develop their abilities and raise their self-esteem.
