Sheffield Inclusion Centre in Sheffield is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support nursery pupils, assist in implementing curriculum activities and help extend language development through daily interactions.
You will work as part of a team, maintain pupil records, participate in training, and contribute to home-school partnerships, with opportunities to attend staff meetings and assist with resources preparation.
Full working knowledge of relevantpolicies/codes of practice and awareness of relevant legislation
Working knowledge of national/foundationstage curriculum and other relevant learning programmes/strategies
Understanding of principles of childdevelopment and learning processes
Ability to self-evaluate learning needs andactively seek learning opportunities
Ability to relate well to children andadults
Work constructively as part of a team,understanding classroom roles and responsibilities and your own positionwithin these
Can use ICT effectively to support learning
Use of other equipment technology – video,photocopier

Experience, qualifications, and training (if any)
Appropriate qualification for Nurserysetting (if working with early years)
NVQ3 for Teaching Assistants or equivalentqualification or experience. Trainingwill be available for the right candidate.
Training in the relevant strategies e.g.literacy and/or in particular curriculum or learning area e.g. bi-lingual,sign language, dyslexia, ICT, maths, English, CACHE etc.
Appropriate first aid training

Can allocate some contractual time to afterschool staff meetings when appropriate
