Job summary

Connex Education is seeking dedicated teaching assistants to support children in primary schools in Southport and surrounding areas.

Experience with SEND is highly desirable for supply roles and you will work across EYFS, KS1 and KS2, including long-term 1:1 support. Weekly PAYE pay and ongoing training are provided by Connex.

We offer job-ready training and a supportive team to help you progress into permanent roles where requested by schools.

Qualifications

• Level 2/3 teaching assistant qualification is desirable.
• Experience supporting children in primary schools is essential.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to adapt to different learning needs.
• DBS on update service or willing to obtain one through Connex.

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom support across EYFS, KS1 or KS2.
• Cover across different year groups as needed.
• Offer long-term 1:1 support for children with SEN.
• Support temporary-to-perm pathways to permanent contracts.
• Fill part-time bookings when required.

About the Schools : Connex Education have been supplying teaching assistants to primary schools in Southport for over 10 years. We work in partnership with primary schools in the following areas:

• Ainsdale
• Birkdale
• Southport (centre)
• Churchtown

About the roles : With the surge in demand for teaching assistants in Southport, Connex Education are currently recruiting full-time and part-time teaching assistants.

The following are the type of bookings that could be available for you:

• Full-time general classroom support in EYFS, KS1 or KS2.
• Split roles - cover in different year groups throughout the day.
• Long-term 1:1 support for children with special educational needs.
• Temp-to-perm roles - transition onto school contracts when schools request notice for staff.
• Part-time bookings - day-to-day cover for full days and half-days.
