You will support students in lessons, small groups and on a one-to-one basis, helping them understand tasks, stay engaged and develop greater confidence and independence. Working alongside teachers and other support staff, you will adapt your approach to different learning needs while helping maintain calm, purposeful classroom routines.

This role could suit an experienced Teaching Assistant, someone with transferable skills looking to move into education, or a suitably qualified higher-level practitioner. It is a good opportunity to build experience across both upper-school and sixth-form age groups within a supportive team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support teachers during lessons and help maintain positive classroom routines.
  • Work with individuals and small groups to reinforce learning.
  • Help students understand tasks and participate confidently.
  • Encourage independence, resilience and positive learning habits.
  • Share relevant observations with teachers to help shape future support.
  • Carry out duties in line with safeguarding and school procedures.
Requirements
  • Experience working with young people is desirable, although transferable experience may be considered.
  • Strong communication skills and confidence working with students aged 13–18.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and support colleagues.
  • A patient, reliable and professional approach.
  • An up-to-date CV with a clear employment history and reference details.
  • The right to work in the UK and willingness to complete an enhanced DBS and other safeguarding checks.
  • A strong commitment to safeguarding, student wellbeing and professional boundaries.
Why work via Teach-Now?
  • Your own dedicated consultant for ongoing support and guidance.
  • A refer a friend scheme paying £150 for each candidate you refer once they have worked and been paid for their first 10 days.
  • Pay in line with the Agency Worker Regulations (AWR), meaning equal pay to a permanent employee.
  • Access to a wide range of CPD training through our in-house team of experienced senior leaders.
