Job summary

Salford City Academy in Salford invites applications for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support students' learning and remove barriers to education. You will work with teachers, pastoral and SEND teams to ensure all students access the curriculum in an inclusive environment.

You will assist with lesson preparation, provide targeted SEND support, monitor progress, and contribute to safeguarding and personal development.

Qualifications

  • Experience of working with young people, preferably in a secondary school setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff and families.
  • Patient, adaptable and committed to supporting all learners.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Responsibilities

  • Assist teachers with preparation of learning materials and classroom activities.
  • Provide targeted support for students with SEND, ensuring individual needs are met.
  • Promote positive behaviour, resilience, and independence in line with the school's behaviour policy.
  • Help monitor student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
  • Support students' social, emotional, and personal development.
  • Contribute to the creation of a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.
  • Assist with educational visits, enrichment activities, and other school events as required.
  • Uphold safeguarding and child protection procedures at all times.

Job description

Salford City Academy is seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic, and caring Teaching Assistant to support students in achieving their full potential. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers, pastoral staff, and the SEND team to provide high-quality support for learning, helping to remove barriers to education and ensuring all students can access the curriculum and thrive within our inclusive school community., Support students in lessons, individually and in small groups, to enhance learning and engagement.

  • Assist teachers with the preparation of learning materials and classroom activities

  • Promote positive behaviour, resilience, and independence in line with the school's behaviour policy
  • Help monitor student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff
