  • Support Across All Key Stages: Adapt to working with pupils across EYFS, Key Stage 1, and Key Stage 2, depending on the school's needs.
  • SEND Support: Provide additional support to pupils with SEND, helping them access learning activities and participate fully in classroom life.
  • Individual & Group Support: Deliver one-to-one and small-group support to reinforce learning, build confidence, and address individual learning needs.
  • Behaviour Management: Encourage positive behaviour, reinforce classroom expectations, and promote a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Learning & Progress Monitoring: Observe pupils' engagement and progress, sharing relevant feedback with the class teacher to support their development.
  • Adaptation of Learning Resources: Help adapt activities and resources to meet pupils' different abilities, learning styles, and additional needs.
  • Personal Development & Independence: Encourage pupils to develop their communication, social interaction, confidence, and independence.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with teachers, SEND staff, and other support colleagues to ensure pupils receive consistent and effective support.
To succeed as a Teaching Assistant, you will need:
  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant within a UK primary school or a similar educational setting.
  • The flexibility to support pupils across EYFS, Key Stage 1, and Key Stage 2 as required.
  • Experience supporting children with SEND, or a strong willingness to develop skills in this area.
  • A good understanding of classroom support strategies and the importance of inclusive education.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
  • A patient, caring, proactive, and adaptable approach to supporting children's learning and development.
  • The ability to respond positively to different classroom environments, learning needs, and daily requirements.
  • The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a wider school team.
  • An enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply through Reeson Education.
Benefits:

  • Varied experience supporting pupils across all primary key stages.
  • Opportunities to develop experience in both general classroom support and SEND provision.
  • Professional development and further opportunities within education.
  • A collaborative and welcoming school environment.
  • The opportunity to make a meaningful difference to pupils' academic progress, confidence, and personal development.
  • Support from Reeson Education throughout the recruitment and placement process.
