Job summary

NextGen Teachers are partnering with a specialist SEND school in Reigate to appoint a Specialist SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils aged 2-11 with complex needs.

The role involves 1:1 and small-group support, helping access learning, and working closely with teachers, therapists and other staff. Full training is provided and there is a focus on developing communication, independence and wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Experience with SEND, SEN, Autism or complex needs preferred but not essential.
• Experience in care, healthcare or medical environment valuable.
• Background in education, care or support work is advantageous.

Responsibilities

Specialist SEND Teaching Assistant - Complex Needs

Location: Reigate, Surrey
Salary: 17,067 per annum ( 24,420 FTE)
Hours: Monday-Friday, 9:00am-3:30pm
Additional hours: 8:30am start one morning per week for a staff meeting
Contract: Term time only

NextGen Teachers are working with a specialist SEND school in Reigate looking for caring and committed Teaching Assistants to support children aged 2-11.

The school supports pupils with Autism (ASC), severe learning difficulties, complex medical needs and additional care requirements.

Full training and support is provided, making this an excellent opportunity for candidates with a background in education, care, healthcare, childcare or support work.

The Role

As a Specialist SEND Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils

Who We’re Looking For

Previous experience working with SEND, SEN, Autism or complex needs is preferred but not essential.

We’re particularly interested in candidates with experience as:

• SEND Teaching Assistant / SEN Teaching Assistant
• Teaching Assistant / Learning Support Assistant
• Support Worker / Children’s Support Worker
• Care Assistant / Healthcare Assistant
• Residential Support Worker
• Nursery Practitioner / Childcare Worker
• Youth Worker
• Healthcare or medical support professional

Experience in a care, healthcare or medical environment is particularly valuable due to the complex medical and care needs of some pupils.

Full Training Provided
