Job summary

Outcomes First Group is seeking a Teaching Assistant at Papworth Hall School in Papworth Everard. The role is a permanent, term-time position with 40 hours per week, starting September 2026. The school supports pupils with complex needs and autism in a calm, inclusive setting.

You will work with experienced teachers to provide individual support and small-group learning, helping pupils build confidence and positive relationships throughout the day.

Qualifications

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths – Grade C / 4 or above.
  • Compassionate and patient, with a calm approach.
  • Positive and resilient, able to support pupils.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting pupils individually and in small groups to access learning.
  • Working closely with teachers to deliver engaging classroom activities.
  • Helping pupils develop confidence, independence and positive relationships.
  • Supporting emotional wellbeing and encouraging positive behaviours.
  • Creating a calm, inclusive and encouraging learning environment.

Job Title: Teaching Assistant
Location: Papworth Hall School, Papworth Everard, CB23 3RD
Salary: £23,638 per annum (not pro rata)
Hours: 40 hours per week | Monday to Friday
Contract: Permanent | Term Time Only
Start: September 2026

Who We’re Looking For

You don’t need years of experience in education. We’re looking for someone with the right attitude, resilience and passion to make a difference.You could be an experienced Teaching Assistant, looking for a new challenge, or someone from another background who has the patience, empathy and enthusiasm to build meaningful relationships with young people.You’ll be someone who is:

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths – Grade C / 4 or above is required
  • Compassionate and patient, with a calm approach
  • Positive and resilient, even when things get challenging
  • Creative and adaptable, able to think differently about how pupils learn
  • A great team player, who enjoys learning from others

About Us

Papworth Hall School is in the picturesque village in Cambridgeshire. It is within close proximity to Huntingdon and Cambridge. Our new specialist school caters for young people with complex communication needs, autism and associated learning and emotional needs and has the capacity for 30 students. For over 19 years Options Autism have provided care and education to pupils and adults with autism, complex needs and learning difficulties.
