Job description

Job Title: Teaching Assistant

Location: Southampton

Pay Range: 85-103 per day

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday

Reeson Education has an exciting opportunity for a teaching assistant to join a wonderful, thriving team in a primary school in Portsmouth.

This opportunity is to begin as soon as possible and is for the full academic year, with the possibility of transferring to a school contract directly.

This is a truly outstanding school with exceptional resources, surroundings, and a senior leadership team.

About the role
  1. This teaching assistant role involves supporting as a general teaching assistant in a good two-form entry primary school located in a vibrant and thriving community.
  2. The role is to start as soon as possible on a long-term basis, with temp-to-perm placement from the outset.
  3. Working hours are Monday to Friday, from 8:00 am to 3:30 pm, including a 30-minute dinner break.
  4. You will support the teacher in delivering the curriculum, working with parents, teachers, and the school to create a supportive and nurturing environment where children can excel.
  5. Planning and leading one-to-one teaching and interventions with children will be part of your responsibilities.
The ideal teaching assistant will
  1. Have experience working within early years settings, such as schools, nurseries, or similar environments.
  2. Possess a sound knowledge of the early years curriculum and be able to provide two work/education-based references covering a 3-year period, including one from your most recent employment.
  3. Have a Level 3 relevant qualification (desirable but not essential).
  4. Demonstrate well-developed interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  5. Be able to plan, organise, and prioritise tasks efficiently.
  6. Manage good communication systems within the school environment.
Requirements
  1. Complete a quick and easy vetting process with 24/7 support from a dedicated consultant.
  2. Hold a clear enhanced DBS certificate registered on the online update service.
  3. Provide two references over a 3-year period, including one from your most recent employment.
  4. Have relevant experience and the ability to create a positive, stimulating, and effective learning environment.
  5. Possess a helpful, positive, calm, and caring nature.
