Randstad Education is currently seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school community in Wisbech. Working on a full-time basis, this role focuses on delivering tailored support to pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including Autism (ASC), ADHD, speech and language delays, and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in creating an inclusive, safe, and encouraging classroom environment where every pupil feels understood, supported, and motivated to learn.
One-to-One & Small Group Support: As a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide tailored learning support, guiding SEN pupils through classroom activities and adapted tasks.
Behaviour & Sensory Regulation: Implement positive encouragement, sensory breaks, and visual routines to help students stay engaged and regulated throughout the school day.
Promote Independence: Assist SEN students in developing essential communication skills, emotional resilience, social interactions, and learning confidence.
Collaborate with the SENCO: Track pupil progress, maintain observational notes, and work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to adapt individual support plans.
Foster Inclusion: Assist in adapting learning materials and resources to ensure academic and practical activities are accessible for your assigned pupils.
We are searching for a warm, dependable SEN Teaching Assistant with strong interpersonal skills and a genuine commitment to special education support.
Prior experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant, learning support assistant, care worker, or youth mentor is highly advantageous.
Understanding of various educational needs (e.g., Autism spectrum condition, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, or SEMH).
Calm, patient, and adaptable approach with strong de-escalation skills and high emotional intelligence.
Punctual and able to commit to a full-time timetable in Wisbech.
Holds an Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or readiness to process one immediately through Randstad).
Mandatory UK Right to Work (no visa sponsorship available).
