The Role

We are looking for a motivated Secondary School Teaching Assistant to work closely with teachers and students, providing essential classroom support. In this Temp to Perm role, you will assist in lesson delivery, student engagement, and pastoral care, ensuring a positive and structured learning environment for pupils in Key Stages 3 and 4.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support teachers in delivering engaging and effective lessons.
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students, helping them with classwork and reinforcing learning objectives.
  • Assist in classroom management, promoting positive behavior and engagement.
  • Work with students who have special educational needs (SEN), adapting learning resources where necessary.
  • Help prepare teaching materials and set up classroom activities.
  • Supervise students during break times, school trips, and extracurricular activities.
  • Support teachers with assessment and progress tracking, ensuring students receive the guidance they need to succeed.
Minimum Requirements

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Experience: At least 1 year of experience working in a secondary school or similar educational setting.
  • Qualifications: A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) is desirable but not essential.
  • Skills:
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students and staff.
    • A passion for supporting young people in their education and personal development.
    • The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
    • Patience, adaptability, and confidence in managing classroom dynamics.
