SEMH Teaching Assistant

Fantastic pay rates between £400.00-£500.00 per week.

Monarch Education are actively recruiting a Social, Emotional and Mental Health Trained Teaching Assistant to support a Specialist School in Peterborough.

This exciting full-time opportunity has the potential to become permanent. The school environment is friendly, culturally diverse, and family-oriented, offering support and guidance. Working hours are typically from 8:00 to 16:00 (depending on the school), Monday to Friday, term-time only.

The school is looking for a skilled Teaching Assistant with experience working with special educational needs, either with children or adults. The position is available to start ASAP, with a view to going permanent by April 2025.

In this role, you will support students with various SEND needs, particularly Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs, within a primary school setting. You will assist the classroom teacher in boosting attainment and supporting social and educational development, maintaining discipline according to school procedures, and promoting good practice among pupils.

Suitable Candidates Can Be Any Of The Following
  • Qualified Teaching Assistants
  • Experience working in a Special Educational Needs School
  • Probation officers
  • Healthcare, support, or social work experience
  • Graduates in Acting, Music, Performing Arts, Psychology
  • Experience as a SEND Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant
  • 3-6 months experience working with children
  • Sports coaches
  • Available to start full-time

Requirements
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Recent child-based reference and relevant DBS/Police checks (support available)

Experience in supporting children or young people within nursery, school, SEND, or youth settings is preferred.
