Job summary

Prospero Teaching are looking to recruit an excellent English graduate as a Teaching Assistant in Liverpool. This temporary, long-term role supports a secondary school pupil in class and in small-group settings, focusing on English studies and pastoral support.

The role is full-time, 8:30 am - 3:30 pm, located in Liverpool, with safeguarding responsibilities and close collaboration with teachers to ensure students thrive academically and socially.

Qualifications

• Degree in English is required for eligibility.
• Enhanced DBS certificate or willingness to process a new application.
• Right to Work in the UK is required.
• Provide at least two professional references covering the last 2 years.

Responsibilities

• Assist with lessons and set up materials.

• Monitor students' well-being and report concerns to staff.

Teaching Assistant (English graduate)

Days - Full time

Hours - 8:30 am - 3:30 pm

Responsibilities

• Assisting with lessons: Helping sort materials, setting up equipment, and supporting students during lessons.
• Behaviour management: Foster a positive learning environment with good behaviour management.
• Providing emotional support: Offering guidance and support to students who may be dealing with personal issues or stress.
• Monitoring well-being: Keeping an eye on students' overall well-being and reporting any concerns to the appropriate staff members.
• Safeguarding: Ensuring the safeguarding procedure is followed when required
• Collaboration: Work closely with teachers to ensure lessons run smoothly and students thrive academically and socially.

Requirements

• Teaching Assistant qualification or higher/equivalent (Desirable)
• Previous experience working with young people.

To be eligible:

• Have a degree in English
• Hold Right to Work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application.
• Provide at least two professional references covering at least 24 months/cover the last 2 years
