Job summary

Heath Primary School in Kesgrave, Ipswich, is seeking a friendly Teaching Assistant to join our team for a fixed-term placement during the spring/summer terms. The role is 26.25 hours per week, term time only, with pro rata starting salary of £25,614.

We are looking for someone positive, adaptable and capable of supporting maths and English learning, with GCSE English and maths at grade C/4 or above. Experience with technology such as Microsoft Teams is desirable.

We are looking to appoint a person who will need to:

• be positive and engaging

• have high expectations of both behaviour and pupil outcomes
• have a strong subject knowledge with relation to the primary curriculum, in particular, maths and English
• have GCSE English and maths at grade C/level 4 or above (or equivalent).

Desirable but not essential:

• The ability to work in a team
• Experience using a range of technology including Microsoft Teams
• The ability to take the initiative and adapt work to the child or situation
• The ability to work both in the classroom and out of the classroom

• An understanding that children’s behaviour is a form of communication and that unacceptable behaviour has a root cause. The ability to unpick unacceptable behaviour in order to identify triggers.
