Heath Primary School in Kesgrave, Ipswich, is seeking a Teaching Assistant to join our team. The role is 26.25 hours per week during term time, with a fixed-term contract from 5 January 2027 to 21 July 2027, initially, with staff review.

Starting salary is £25,614 per annum pro rata (Grade 2 point 3-4). The successful candidate will support pupil learning, have GCSE English and maths at grade C/4 or above, and bring a positive, adaptable approach with strong subject knowledge in maths and

We are looking to appoint a person who will need to:

• be positive and engaging
• be adaptable and show initiative where needed
• share the school's vision and ethos
• have high expectations of both behaviour and pupil outcomes
• have a strong subject knowledge with relation to the primary curriculum, in particular, maths and English
• have GCSE English and maths at grade C/level 4 or above (or equivalent).

Desirable but not essential:

• The ability to work in a team
• Experience using a range of technology including Microsoft Teams
• The ability to take the initiative and adapt work to the child or situation
• The ability to work both in the classroom and out of the classroom

• An understanding that children’s behaviour is a form of communication and that unacceptable behaviour has a root cause. The ability to unpick unacceptable behaviour in order to identify triggers.
