Job summary

Positive Futures Recruitment Ltd is seeking Teaching Assistants for a specialist school in Meldreth, supporting learners with complex needs including PMLD and autism. You will work across classrooms, local environments and community settings to help students learn and progress.

Job Title

Teaching Assistant - Specialist School

Location

Meldreth, Cambridgeshire/ Hertfordshire

Salary

£22,996 to £25,068 (Actual annual salary, dependent on experience and qualifications)

Hourly Rate

£12.87 to £14.03 p/hr

Hours

Full time - 40 hrs per week, Mon - Fri. Term time only

We are currently seeking Teaching Assistants to join a specialist school supporting complex learning difficulties, often associated with profound physical disabilities and/or medical needs based in Meldreth.

The role
  • Be crucial in supporting students with their learning, development and progress in all areas of the curriculum within a range of learning contexts including the classroom, the local environment and within the community
  • Help young people with a range of needs, including PMLD, complex medical conditions and autism to achieve their educational and personal goals
  • Support an environment that fosters equality, diversity and the rights of all young people to be seen as learners and be treated with respect
  • Place an emphasis on support and empowerment of young people
  • Develop a greater understanding of Special Education issues; the values of Aurora and demonstrate these in all aspects of the role
  • Provide high quality support in all aspects of the role
  • The role may require participation in physical intervention and personal care routines
Experience /Qualifications
  • You must hold at least level 2 / C grade (or equivalent) Maths and English
  • Willing and able to work towards getting formal qualifications, attend training and to take responsibility for your own development - All fully funded by us
  • Passionate and show compassion for children and young people with additional needs
  • Ambitious and determined to overcome barriers to learning
