Job summary

Waverley School in Enfield, North London, is seeking a Teaching Assistant to support pupils with severe and profound learning difficulties. This maternity cover runs until 31 March 2027, with start date as soon as possible and duties across two sites, Waverley School and Waverley@Honilands.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Teaching Assistant to join our team, supporting pupils with severe and profound learning difficulties. This is a maternity cover contract, expected to run until 31 March 2027. The contract may end earlier if the staff member returns from maternity leave before that date.
Waverley School is a large, Local Authority maintained day school in Enfield, North London. We support pupils aged 3-19 with severe and complex needs. There are currently 151 full-time-equivalent pupils across our two sites: Waverley School and Waverley@Honilands., Would you like to help children and young people reach their potential and develop as much independence as possible? Are you calm under pressure and enjoy working as part of a small team? If so, we'd love to hear from you.
Proven skills and abilities working with children are desirable, and a history of work in a similar setting would be an advantage.
We provide staff training in child protection, manual handling, communication strategies and other areas relevant to the role.
