1:1 Teaching Assistant Are you a resilient, relationship-driven individual with a passion for supporting young people with SEMH and trauma needs? We’re working in partnership with an alternative provision to recruit a 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with SEMH and trauma-related needs. This is a full-time, long-term role for someone confident in building strong relationships and providing consistent, nurturing support. The right candidate will play a vital role in helping the young person access learning, regulate emotions, and engage in positive experiences throughout the school day. The Role: Location: Exeter Start Date: ASAP Type: Full-time (term-time only), long-term Pupil Support: 1:1 basis, SEMH and trauma-informed support Driving Required: Yes – full UK licence and own vehicle essential Insurance: Willing to obtain business insurance to transport pupil to off-site meetings and activities Daily Structure: Morning: Supporting the pupil during core subject lessons alongside a teacher in a small group setting Afternoon: Facilitating access to off-site and in-house activities designed to build life skills, confidence, and engagement Ideal Candidate Will: Be experienced or confident working with students with SEMH and trauma Have a strong ability to build trusting, consistent relationships Be emotionally resilient, calm under pressure, and proactive Be flexible, reliable, and happy to take initiative Be comfortable with occasional lone working and off-site activities Why Work With Us?
