Job summary

A leading educational organization in Colchester is seeking a Teaching Assistant to support pupils in a successful school. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and a passion for helping students achieve their potential. This role offers valuable classroom experience, training opportunities, and a chance for a permanent contract.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting children or young adults with SEND needs is desirable.
  • Valid DBS registered with the online update service or willingness to apply for one.
  • Available 5 days a week.

Responsibilities

  • Set a good example in terms of dress and punctuality.
  • Promote the welfare of children and support school safeguarding.
  • Communicate efficiently with the Senior Leadership Team.
  • Proactive in Health and Safety matters.
  • Communicate effectively with SLT and staff.
  • Maintain detailed student records and use initiative to solve problems.

Empowering Learning are working with a highly successful school situated in the area of Colchester. The school are looking for an efficient, enthusiastic individual with excellent communication skills to provide support for pupils. Previous experience of working with teachers and supporting students is desirable although not essential. A high standard of literacy and numeracy is essential for this post, as is the enthusiasm to help raise the achievement of students.

Responsibilities
  • Set a good example in terms of dress, punctuality and attendance
  • Promote the welfare of children and to support the school in safeguarding children though following relevant policies and procedures
  • Be able to support students with following their behaviour plans and strategies
  • Be proactive in matters of Health and Safety
  • Communicate efficiently with the Senior Leadership Team and members of staff
  • Maintain detailed and accurate student records on a timely basis. Ability to use initiative and creativity to problem solve
