Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant looking to work with pupils on a one-to-one basis?

LTS are currently looking for a committed and motivated Teaching Assistant to start immediately in one of our client schools in the EN3 area of Enfield, North London.

The school is a mainstream primary school catering for children from Nursery to Year 6. It is 2 form entry provision, from Reception up, admitting up to 60 children into each year group.

You will be supporting an Early Years pupil who has Special Educational Needs. They are currently in Reception and have:

  • Learning difficulties
  • Speech, language and communication needs
  • Social and emotional difficulties

You will work with them on a one-to-one basis throughout the day to support them with both their learning and their personal, social, and mental health needs.

The role is full time, Monday to Friday, from 8.30am until 3.30pm each day. It's currently an ongoing temporary position with every opportunity to transfer onto permanent contract in the near future.

You will be paid daily, between £90 and £95 a day, on a weekly basis and you will be expected to follow the local school term dates, ideally avoiding taking holiday in term time to enable you to build a good relationship with the pupil.

This role is not without its challenges; however, it is very rewarding, and you will be fully supported by a highly skilled, friendly staff team who will equip you with the resources and knowledge you need to help the pupil to progress.

The Ideal Candidate Would Be Expected To

  • Work towards the pupils individualised targets set out within the EHCP, in liaison with the class teacher and SENCO
  • Develop knowledge of the particular needs of the pupil and seek advice from the SENCO, class teacher and outside agencies as directed
  • Be fully involved in the planning, preparation and delivery of the day-to-day activities
  • Provide regular feedback to the class teacher about the pupil’s progress and difficulties
  • Use individualised strategies to support the pupil to access the curriculum and thrive personally
  • Encourage and enable pupil participation and performance
  • Supervise the pupil during non-classroom time

Experience with Special Educational Needs, specifically supporting those with complex needs is essential for this role.
