Job summary

Outcomes First Group is seeking a caring Teaching Assistant to support pupils across Yiewsley, Colne and Upton sites. You will assist learning, foster a safe environment and help students navigate learning with SEN needs.

Join a multi-site team focusing on consistency, personalised approaches and collaboration with teachers to maximise each pupil's potential and independence.

Qualifications

  • GCSE English and Maths at Grade C/4 or above, or equivalent.
  • Experience working with students within an SEN or specialist education setting.
  • Genuine interest in supporting students with SEN needs.
  • Calm, caring and proactive approach when students face challenges.
  • Ability to build strong, positive relationships with students.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual, small-group and classroom support to engage learners.
  • Work flexibly across Yiewsley, Colne and Upton sites to support students and staff.
  • Build trusting relationships to help students feel safe and ready to learn.
  • Adapt activities and resources to meet individual needs.
  • Support emotional regulation, positive behaviour and routines.
  • Encourage independence, confidence, communication and social development.
  • Participate in classroom, outdoor activities, sensory breaks and enrichment.
  • Help create calm, inclusive environments and recognise student strengths.

Make a Difference Across the Hillingdon Grange School Community At Hillingdon Grange School, we're looking for a caring, resilient and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to support students across our Yiewsley, Colne and Upton sites. This is a varied, hands-on role where you'll have the opportunity to work with different students and teams across the school. You could be supporting learning in the classroom, working individually with a student, getting involved in outdoor or sensory activities, or helping a young person navigate a challenging moment. You'll be a consistent and trusted adult who takes the time to understand each student, helping them feel safe, build confidence and develop the skills and independence they need to succeed. Please note: This is a multi-site position and you will be required to work flexibly across all three Hillingdon Grange School sites in Yiewsley, Colne and Upton. What You'll Be Doing

  • Provide individual, small-group and classroom support, helping students engage with learning and achieve their goals
  • Work flexibly across our Yiewsley, Colne and Upton sites, supporting students and colleagues wherever needed
  • Build positive, trusting relationships that help students feel safe, understood and ready to learn
  • Work alongside teachers to adapt activities and resources around individual needs
  • Support students with emotional regulation, positive behaviour and predictable routines
  • Encourage greater independence, confidence, communication and social development
  • Get involved in classroom learning, outdoor activities, sensory breaks and enrichment opportunities
  • Help create calm, nurturing and inclusive environments where students are encouraged to recognise their strengths and achievements
    We're looking for someone who brings patience, consistency and a genuine desire to help young people succeed.
You'll bring:
  • GCSE English and Maths at Grade C/4 or above, or equivalent
  • Experience working with students within an SEN or specialist education setting
  • A genuine interest in supporting students with SEN needs
  • A calm, caring and proactive approach, particularly when students are experiencing challenges
  • The ability to build strong and positive relationships with students
  • Confidence working collaboratively with teachers and the wider multidisciplinary team
  • The flexibility to work across different school environments and adapt to the needs of individual students
    Yiewsley Grange is one of our Early Years and Primary sites, providing specialist education for children aged 3.5 - 11 years old. Our schools support pupils in the Early Years Foundation Stage, Key Stage 1, and Key Stage 2.

At Yiewsley Grange, we use a wide range of teaching strategies to engage learners with diverse learning difficulties and styles. Pupils are taught in smaller class sizes and work towards the Equals Semi-Formal Curriculum and equivalent functional skills qualifications. As part of the Hillingdon Grange group of schools, Yiewsley Grange benefits from being one of four sites offering education from early years up to Key Stage 2. The group provides a unique combination of education and support for pupils across a wide spectrum of needs and abilities. By delivering personalised teaching in an autism-specific environment, we ensure that each pupil's individual needs are fully addressed and their capabilities maximised. Our tailored primary learning environment is designed specifically to support autistic children in reaching their full potential The site is situated in West Drayton and is commutable from Slough, Windsor and surrounding areas. At Outcomes First Schools, we provide specialist education for learners who need a deeper level of understanding, expertise and support than mainstream education can typically offer. We support students with a wide range of complex, co-occurring and neurodivergent needs, including autism, ADHD, SEMH, speech and communication needs, dyslexia and experiences of trauma or adversity.
