Primary Teaching Assistant

TeacherActive are supporting one of our partner primary schools in Medway in seeking a caring, enthusiastic and committed Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team and provide tailored support to children in Year 2 with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

The school are proud of their inclusive ethos and are looking for a Teaching Assistant who shares their passion for enabling every child to reach their full potential. You will work closely with class teachers, our SENDCo and external professionals to deliver high-quality support, both 1:1 and in small group settings.

Key Responsibilities as a Teaching Assistant:

• Support children with a range of SEND needs, including ASD, ADHD and speech and language difficulties
• Help create a safe, nurturing and stimulating learning environment
• Adapt learning activities to suit individual needs and promote independence
• Track and record pupil progress and provide feedback to the teaching team
• Foster positive relationships with pupils, parents, and staff

We are looking for a Teaching Assistant who:

• Has experience supporting children with SEND
• Is patient, empathetic and enthusiastic
• Works well as part of a team and uses initiative
• Has strong communication skills and a positive attitude
• Is committed to inclusive education and child-centred learning
