Job Title: Teaching Assistant (Key Stage 2)

Location: Bolton : BL6

Contract: Full-time, Term-time Only

Salary: GBP13.69 - GBP15.83

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a vibrant primary school in Bolton for a Teaching Assistant to support their Key Stage 2 (KS2) students. As a leading education recruitment agency, we are looking for a passionate and experienced Teaching Assistant who can make a positive impact on students' learning and development in KS2.

As the Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher, providing tailored support to children aged 7-11. Your role will be to help deliver a high-quality learning experience, ensure all pupils are engaged, and provide the necessary support to meet their individual needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with small groups or individual students, offering additional support as a Teaching Assistant to address learning gaps and boost confidence.
  • Assist in preparing and organising classroom resources, displays, and materials to enhance the learning environment.
  • Monitor and track pupils' progress, offering feedback and ensuring that interventions are working effectively.
  • Provide tailored support to students with special educational needs (SEND) or other learning needs.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive classroom atmosphere, where all KS2 students feel valued and confident in their learning.
Essential Criteria
  • Proven experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a primary school, particularly with KS2 students.
  • A relevant Level 2 or 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent).
  • Strong understanding of the KS2 curriculum and how to effectively support children in key subjects like English, Maths, and Science.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with children, teachers, and other school staff.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children's academic and personal development.
Desirable
  • Experience working with students who have special educational needs (SEND) or English as an Additional Language (EAL).
  • Knowledge of intervention strategies to support literacy and numeracy development in KS2.
  • Familiarity with preparing students for SATs or other assessments.
