We are currently recruiting on behalf of a vibrant primary school in Bolton for a Teaching Assistant to support their Key Stage 2 (KS2) students. As a leading education recruitment agency, we are looking for a passionate and experienced Teaching Assistant who can make a positive impact on students' learning and development in KS2.
As the Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher, providing tailored support to children aged 7-11. Your role will be to help deliver a high-quality learning experience, ensure all pupils are engaged, and provide the necessary support to meet their individual needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with small groups or individual students, offering additional support as a Teaching Assistant to address learning gaps and boost confidence.
- Assist in preparing and organising classroom resources, displays, and materials to enhance the learning environment.
- Monitor and track pupils' progress, offering feedback and ensuring that interventions are working effectively.
- Provide tailored support to students with special educational needs (SEND) or other learning needs.
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom atmosphere, where all KS2 students feel valued and confident in their learning.
Essential Criteria
- Proven experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a primary school, particularly with KS2 students.
- A relevant Level 2 or 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent).
- Strong understanding of the KS2 curriculum and how to effectively support children in key subjects like English, Maths, and Science.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with children, teachers, and other school staff.
- A genuine passion for supporting children's academic and personal development.
Desirable
- Experience working with students who have special educational needs (SEND) or English as an Additional Language (EAL).
- Knowledge of intervention strategies to support literacy and numeracy development in KS2.
- Familiarity with preparing students for SATs or other assessments.
