Job summary

Woolmer Hill School is seeking a proactive learning support assistant to help children in small groups or 1:1, including those with additional needs, to access learning.

You will liaise with parents daily regarding welfare, learning and development, maintain confidentiality, stay calm under pressure, and contribute to a busy but welcoming learning environment. A positive, reliable team player with good literacy, numeracy and ICT skills is essential.

Qualifications

• Support learning in small groups or 1:1.
• Assist children with additional needs to access learning.
• Liaise with parents on welfare, learning and development.
• Understand that behaviour is a form of communication.
• Maintain a positive, welcoming attitude; remain calm under pressure.
• Show excellent communication and ICT skills.
• Be reliable and discreet with confidential matters.
• Be able to administer first aid when necessary.

• Supporting children with their learning in small groups or 1:1
• Be involved in supporting children with additional needs to enable them to access learning.
• Assist in providing effective liaison with parents on a day-to-day basis regarding the welfare, learning and development of the children.
• Understand that all behaviour is a communication
