Job summary

West Somerset College in Minehead is seeking an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a supportive team. The role focuses on raising pupil learning and attainment while promoting independence, self-esteem and social inclusion.

You will work with teachers to access the curriculum and help students develop confidence and resilience. We require a commitment to safeguarding, strong literacy and numeracy, and the ability to work constructively within a team.

Qualifications

• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare.
• Strong literacy and numeracy skills (GCSE Grade C/4 or above in English and Maths).
• Experience working with children in an educational setting is desirable.
• A proactive, compassionate, and adaptable approach to supporting students.
• The ideal candidate for this role will want to work constructively as part of a team, understanding classroom roles and responsibilities and your position within these.
