Job description

Job Title: SEND Teacher

Location: Gloucester

Pay: £162.31 - £223.62

Type: Fixed Term Contract

Hours: Full time - 8:15 - 15:30

Start date: ASAP

Elementa is recruiting for a SEND Teacher with a strong background in supporting children with additional needs. The role is based at a specialist secondary provision outside of Gloucester for pupils aged 11-16 years, who struggle with social-emotional mental health (SEMH), and who find attending mainstream education a challenge. This role can be very challenging, as the children may have other additional needs, such as ADHD and Autism. You will need to be experienced in supporting children with a variety of needs, have strong behaviour and classroom management skills, and have experience in delivering the national curriculum, including literacy, numeracy, and science.

Whilst this may be a challenging role, it can also be very rewarding, seeing the children develop and progress with the right support in place. As a SEND Teacher, you will be leading a small class, with the additional support of HLTA's and Learning Mentors, providing engaging and insightful lessons, tailored to the needs of the class, and approaching it in a way that the children will be able to understand and therefore succeed.

Key Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS)
  • Demonstrated experience in addressing the needs of students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges
  • Passion for creating inclusive and supportive learning environments
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team

Contract & Recruitment Information:

This includes full vetting & background checks and application for an Enhanced DBS Disclosure (which may be chargeable @£62.70) unless you have a current Enhanced DBS subscribed to the update service.

If you have the relevant skills and experience necessary for this role, then please apply with your full up-to-date CV.

ELEMENTA CANDIDATE COMMITMENT:
