Job summary

Park House School is seeking a skilled Teacher to deliver engaging Maths and Science lessons within a small, specialist provision for SEMH needs in Taunton. You’ll plan personalised lessons, assess progress, and work within a multi-disciplinary team to support each pupil’s wellbeing and learning.

The role requires QTS or equivalent and strong classroom management, with a commitment to safeguarding and a flexible, child-centered approach. Term-time alignment and full-time hours apply.

About the Role

As a Teacher at Park House School, you will deliver engaging lessons tailored to meet the diverse and individual needs of our learners. You will play a key role in helping pupils build confidence, develop essential skills, and re-engage with education.

This role involves working with pupils who may not thrive in mainstream settings and require a flexible, creative, and therapeutic approach to learning. You will be responsible for planning and delivering personalised lessons, tracking progress, and supporting each pupil’s unique journey.

About Park House School

Park House School is a small, specialist provision, registered for 26 pupils aged 8–19. We provide a therapeutic-based learning environment for young people with complex Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

Our approach focuses on creating a safe, nurturing, and structured setting where every pupil feels valued, understood, and supported to achieve their potential.

In This Role, You Will

• Monday to Friday
• 37.5 hours per week

• £31,689 – £37,932 per annum

What We’re Looking For

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
• Experience teaching Maths and/or Science
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
• Excellent communication and organisational abilities
• A flexible, child-centred approach to teaching
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting welfare
• A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
• Right to work in the UK

Experience in specialist or alternative provision is desirable, but we also welcome applicants with transferable skills and a genuine passion for supporting young people with SEMH needs.
